Friday Faves

Hi there! Today I wanted to try something new, that I can hopefully keep up with every week! I wanted to share some of my favorite things or moments from the past week!

  • Favorite Splurge: While I was home this past week, I treated myself to a shellac manicure! I love getting my nails done, but don’t do it frequently at all. I love shellac because it doesn’t chip and lasts forever. I also tried something new, a little glitter/ombre action!

  • Favorite Drink: Considering that I’m a 21 year-old college student, it might be a surprise that this isn’t an alcoholic beverage (pretty far from it actually). But lately I’ve been obsessed with the juices by Evolution Fresh (sold at Starbucks and some grocery stores). The Super Green flavor is my favorite!

  • Favorite Moment: Over the weekend, my family and I visited my brother at his college (about an hour and a half from home). It was so fun to see him, and of course “his world” up at school. On the way home we took the scenic route, and stopped at a lookout over the Puget Sound . Even though it was rainy, how gorgeous is it?! I love the Pacific Northwest!

  • Favorite New Find: So I know I’m WAY late to jump on this bandwagon, but I started the first season of House of Cards this week and love it! I can see now why everyone is crazy about it!

  • Favorite Face: Look at this sweet face! How could you not love it!!! If you haven’t gathered, I’m pretty obsessed with her too.

Favorite Movies of All Time

Image

The other day a few friends and I were discussing our favorite movies of all time. I am a movie fanatic, so it is really hard for me to narrow it down to just a few! But I thought about it, came up with a pretty good list, and figured I would write a post about it! These are not necessarily in the order that I like them, but without further adieu, here are my top picks!

  • Jerry Maguire
  • Rudy
  • Sleepless in Seattle
  • The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan version)
  • Step Brothers
  • My Girl
  • Remember the Titans
  • Forrest Gump
  • Free Willy
  • The Sandlot
  • The Green Mile

So some of those probably seem pretty absurd (ahem, I’m talking to you Free Willy), but I love them so I don’t care.  What are your favorite movies? Please share in the comments below, I’d love to know if we have any in common!

xoxo,

Lauren

Top 10 Pandora Stations

pandora2

So, if you read my post on my “Six Must Have iPhone Apps,” you already know that I am a big fan of Pandora. I use it on my computer, on my phone, in my car, and on my TV. It’s actually a genius concept if you think about it. Simply type in a song or artist that you like, and it will give you a customized playlist/station with music for hours and hours. As far as I’m concerned, there’s always a good time for Pandora. Whether your studying, walking to class, driving, cooking, cleaning, or working out, who doesn’t like good music?! So without further adieu, here are my favorite Pandora stations!

  1. U2 radio: Easy going, great music. And I love the oldies thrown in here.
  2. Ed Sheeran radio: This is a newer find, but since I’m obsessed with Ed Sheeran I love this one.
  3. Gravity (John Mayer) radio: Very frequently played, especially when doing homework. Calming, relaxing, and perfect.
  4. Maroon 5 radio: Appropriate for any time or occasion.
  5. Tim McGraw radio: For when I’m feeling country.
  6. Workout radio: This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Good workout music, especially if you like the upbeat, top-40 pop stuff.
  7. Savage Garden radio: Total throwback. Sounds like a weird pick, but perfect mellow and old school music to do some homework to.
  8. Backstreet Boys radio: Feel free to judge me for this one, but I’ll be too busy jamming to Nick Carter to care. I was raised on the backstreet boys and all the other 90s pop artists this station plays, so obviously I love it.
  9. Stevie Wonder radio: I’m a sucker for oldies and Motown, so I love this station.
  10. Christmas radio: Even though this station only gets use for a month or two a year (I like to stretch the Christmas season as long as possible), it is guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood.

So that’s my list! It may seem like a lot, but in the Pandora-scheme of things it’s really not that big. Give them a listen and tell me what you think!
